This role sits at the intersection of renewable energy finance, tax structuring, and insurance underwriting, supporting innovative solutions that enable large-scale clean energy investment. You will evaluate complex tax credit transactions tied to renewable energy projects and help structure insurance products that reduce risk and unlock capital deployment. Working within a highly specialized and data-driven environment, you will collaborate with brokers, tax advisors, and internal experts to assess, price, and bind coverage for sophisticated deals. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge renewable energy tax structures shaped by recent policy developments and market growth. You will leverage advanced modeling tools and proprietary data to inform underwriting decisions and ensure precision in risk evaluation. This is a high-impact role within a fast-evolving platform designed to accelerate the energy transition. The environment is entrepreneurial, analytical, and deeply mission-driven, with strong institutional backing and significant room for professional growth.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, structuring, and executing tax credit insurance solutions across renewable energy transactions. You will manage submissions end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and commercial viability while maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders.

  • Analyze and underwrite renewable energy tax credit risks, including eligibility, transferability, recapture exposure, and basis risk considerations.
  • Review and assess tax opinions, project documentation, ownership structures, and diligence materials to form underwriting conclusions.
  • Structure and negotiate indication letters, policy terms, binders, and endorsements in collaboration with carrier partners and legal advisors.
  • Manage the full underwriting lifecycle from submission intake through binding, coordinating timelines and deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
  • Conduct independent tax and regulatory research to evaluate novel or complex transaction structures.
  • Engage with brokers, tax advisors, and transaction counsel to support deal execution and ensure alignment across parties.
  • Contribute to underwriting frameworks, pricing benchmarks, and evolving guidelines for renewable energy tax credit insurance.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in tax-related transactions and strong underwriting or deal execution experience within complex financial or energy markets. You are analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Strong expertise in renewable energy tax credits and monetization structures (e.g., partnership flips, sale-leasebacks, transferability structures).
  • Background in tax law, Big 4 advisory, tax equity investing, insurance underwriting, or brokerage; JD, CPA, or LLM is a plus.
  • Experience evaluating tax risk in M&A, tax equity, or tax credit transactions with the ability to form defensible underwriting positions.
  • Ability to interpret complex documentation and translate technical tax concepts into structured insurance terms.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience managing sophisticated external stakeholders such as brokers, counsel, and investors.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex and sometimes conflicting information.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong operational execution, relationship management, and project ownership capabilities.
