Position Summary

Reporting to the Paint line Supervisor and located 100% on site at 2 Walker Drive, Brampton, Ontario, this position will Tends machine by loading and unloading component parts requiring paint. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate handheld electrostatic spray guns to apply an even coat of powder.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for thickness, chips, and defects, performing touch-ups as needed.
  • Able to setup the electrostatic spray guns to achieve high quality finishes and coating thickness
  • Clean spray booths and equipment regularly to prevent colour contamination during shifts.
  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines and consistently wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Responsible for hanging parts on conveyor system as and when required
  • May operate a compressed air spray nozzle gun to apply paint to various elevator parts
  • Unload parts off conveyor once painted and dried.
  • Ensure appropriate parts are identified.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Mindset, Skills & Education

  • Energetic, eager, tenacious!
  • High School Diploma Dry paint experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must have the ability to perform all tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, managers, other stakeholders.
  • Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or feel materials.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is required to walk throughout facility.
  • Employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance of another person. Assistance is available for weights above persons lifting capabilities.
