Service Technician at Chance Management – Colby, Kansas

JOB DESCRIPTION: SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Summary: A Service Technician keeps the trucks rolling, performing accurate and efficient preventative maintenance services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver friendly, courteous and prompt customer service
• Performs Preventative Maintenance on medium/heavy trucks/trailers including but not limited to:
• Oil Changes
• Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants
• Coolant Checks
• Fluid Checks
• Checks and services/replaces batteries, belts and hoses
• Brake Inspection
• Diagnosis issues and repairs on Wipers and Washers
• Evaluates, Repairs, and Replaces Tires.
• Document all work performance.
• Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean
• Keep shop area neat and clean
• Maintain service truck, complete with daily inspection reports as required
• Communicates effectively with Service Writers involving customer service
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste
• Perform functions and duties of the job that may require additional or different tasks to be performed when circumstances change (i.e. emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology development)
• Complete any other duties or special projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• High School diploma; Trade School or other experience preferred
• Must have own basic hand tools
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English
• Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, push, climb, move, reach and work overhead, lift up to 60 lbs. and work in all weather conditions
• Must have valid Driver’s License, clean Motor Vehicle Record and be insurable
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
