Position Summary:
As a vital part of our patient experience team, the PreRegistration Staff member verifies all demographic and insurance information prior to service. In this role, you will provide accurate service cost estimates, prepare patients for payment upon arrival, and educate them on financial policies as necessary. Your contributions ensure that each encounter is efficient, compassionate, and aligned with the ARHS Mission, Vision, and Values.

Key Responsibilities:
- Demographic and Insurance Verification: Confirm all required demographic and insurance information before patient arrival, supporting accuracy and timely service.
- Cost Estimation and Payment Preparation: Provide patients with service cost estimates and facilitate financial readiness through direct communication.
- Financial Policy Education: Educate patients about financial policies in a clear, compassionate manner to enhance understanding and trust.
- Patient and Team Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring alignment with each patient’s unique needs.
- Mission-Driven Service: Embody the ARHS values of integrity, respect, and personal accountability, focusing on quality outcomes for patient experience, safety, and satisfaction.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and accurately to emergencies within the work environment, prioritizing patient and team safety.
Compensation:
- Competitive Pay: Starting at $15.50 per hour, with compensation based on education and experience.
Position Qualifications:

Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience
- Two years of customer service experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare or similar environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with a courteous and professional approach.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients, family members, and staff.
- Proficiency in typing, computer applications, word processing, and basic math.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Personable and approachable, fostering positive interactions with patients, families, and team members.
Physical Demands:
- Manual dexterity and mobility for tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, and frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
- Near acuity for reading and performing close-up tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs occasionally during shifts.
Working Conditions:
- Healthcare Environment: Exposure to potential hazards such as bloodborne pathogens, mechanical equipment, and chemicals.
- Flexible Scheduling: This role may include varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Requirements: Extended periods of sitting and occasional walking/standing are required, with frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry and documentation.
