About This Position
The Logistics Coordinator (LC) will serve as a liaison between shipper, carrier, receiver, and CWI Transportation team. The LC will contact carriers daily to attain tracking information, update TMS, enter loads into TMS, make appointments, and track loads in the TMS. The LC will build and maintain both customer and carrier relationships. Must be effective in quickly and proactively communicating to the CWI team any problems that may develop while a load is in process to be picked up, in transit, or delivering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a daily tracking of loads to enter data accurately and efficiently in the TMS.
- Book carriers on loads into TMS.
- Accurately input data into the TMS daily to include carrier and customers rates, reference numbers, pickup and delivery appointment dates and times, arrival and departure dates and times, as well as any applicable accessorial charges.
- Ensure compliance to meet CWI Transportation carrier vetting, shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Always represent the Company in a professional, moral, and ethical manner.
- Performs related work and other job assignments as required.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in business, Logistics, or related field preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the transportation brokerage industry required.
- Proficient use of computer software, utilizing Microsoft office.
- Ability to become a proficient user of CWI Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Demonstrated work ethic, customer-facing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mathematical, organizational, time management and prioritization skills required.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and high-volume data entry in an efficient and accurate manner.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to successfully perform the essential job functions including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative standards.
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance.
- The position requires standing, sitting and/or walking for extended periods of time.
