Position Summary: The Advancement Intern plays an active role in Woodward Academy's efforts to build lifelong relationships with alumni and strengthen philanthropic engagement. Under the direction of Advancement Office leadership, the Advancement Intern assists with a variety of projects and daily operations that support alumni engagement and advancement initiatives. Through this role, the Advancement Intern will develop a variety of technical, organizational, and communication skills while gaining insight into best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, and institutional advancement.
Specific Duties Include:
  • Provide program and project support to the Annual Giving, Alumni Relations, and Advancement Services teams, contributing to fundraising and engagement efforts
  • Assist with data entry, database updates, and reporting projects to support alumni and donor records
  • Curate engaging content for the Woodward Alumni social media channels, highlighting alumni stories, events, and Academy priorities
  • Support alumni stewardship and fundraising initiatives connected to The Woodward Fund, the Academy's annual giving program
  • Assist with event planning, preparation, and on-site support for advancement and alumni events
  • Support general communication efforts, including phone calls, emails, and mailings to alumni, donors, and community members
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Advancement Team's goals and priorities
Required Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Service-oriented problem-solver who works well with diverse individuals and across operational teams
  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of confidentiality and internal controls
  • Strong computer skills, including high competency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn database systems, email marketing platforms, and social media tools
The Intern, Advancement position is a temporary position.
