About This Position

Responsibilities

  • Perform planting, seeding, pricking out, and transplanting of plant material
  • Maintain flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees according to the company’s quality standards
  • Prepare soil, flower beds, gardens, and other horticultural spaces
  • Water, fertilize, weed, prune, and maintain plant material
  • Identify signs of disease, infestation, or plant stress and report issues
  • Apply appropriate horticultural treatments in accordance with established procedures
  • Participate in the layout, enhancement, and maintenance of green spaces
  • Safely use the tools, equipment, and products required for the job
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines and client expectations
  • Report any issues to the crew leader
  • Respect and follow all Strathmore health and safety regulations
  • Perform other related duties

The Perfect Fit

  • Diploma in horticulture, horticultural production, landscape design/construction, or equivalent training
  • Relevant experience in horticulture, landscape maintenance, nursery, or greenhouse work is an asset
  • Good knowledge of plant material and planting, maintenance, and pruning techniques
  • Ability to recognize diseases, insects, and other plant-related issues
  • Ability to safely use horticultural tools, equipment, and products
  • Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
  • Valid driver’s licence is an asset
  • Ability to speak French and/or English
