About This Position
The Mathematics Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, teaching a comprehensive range of math courses, such as Algebra, Calculus, and developmental math, to students (including dual credit high school students). Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. Correctional facility instructional assignments may be available, if desired. This position is an exempt faculty appointment reporting to LSCPA’s General Education and Developmental Studies Department.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
- Provide quality instruction
- Participate in college tasks, which includes but is not limited to, advising, recruiting, and tutoring
- Serve on departmental and college committees, perform community services, and participate in continuing educational and/or professional development opportunities
- Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
- Attend faculty meetings
- Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
- Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
- Occasional travel to various campuses and/or conferences, seminar locations, and healthcare facilities
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
- Ability to work independently in the classroom
- Skilled at establishing effective working relationships with others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in a two-year college or university
- Experience advising students
- Experience serving on college-wide committees
- Doctorate degree in subject area
