About This Position

Description:

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace is seeking a JV Volleyball Head Coach for the upcoming season. This role is part of a competitive CIF girls volleyball program and plays a vital role in the development pipeline for the varsity level.
The JV Head Coach will be responsible for continuing the growth of student-athletes in both skill and game understanding, while fostering a competitive and positive team environment aligned with the mission of OLP Athletics.

Length of Work Year: Seasonal – Fall Sport

Essential qualities include:
Prior coaching experience preferred
Strong understanding of volleyball strategy and player development
Ability to collaborate with varsity and novice coaching staff
Emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and character development
Excellent communication with players, parents, and administration

Additional Expectations:
Serve as a key contributor to the overall volleyball program development
Support the mission and values of OLP both on and off the court
Maintain strong communication with families and the athletic department
Work collaboratively with the varsity and novice coaches for program continuity
Ensure compliance with CIF and school policies

The Coach agrees to lead and supervise student-athletes in alignment with the mission and values of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting practices, training, and competitions.
  • Teaching sport-specific skills, strategies, and sportsmanship.
  • Ensuring athlete safety, supervision, and proper conduct at all team activities.
  • Communicating professionally with athletes, families, and school personnel.
  • Collaborating with the Athletic Department on scheduling, uniforms/equipment, transportation, and facilities.
  • Supporting academic success, character development, and positive team culture.
  • Complying with all OLP, CIF, and league rules and completing required certifications (including LiveScan and CPR/First Aid).
  • Attending required meetings and assisting with inventory, equipment, and uniform procedures.

Requirements:

Requirements / Qualifications:
Previous volleyball coaching experience preferred
Strong knowledge of offensive and defensive systems and athlete development
Commitment to mentoring and developing female student-athletes

Applicants must have:
Current TB test
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
Livescan background clearance


Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and two professional references from current or former supervisors. Candidates must also provide official transcripts, a current negative TB test result or TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire, complete required training, and successfully complete Livescan fingerprinting. Employment is contingent upon obtaining fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
