DC - On-Call Snow Staffing Support at AA Security Group

Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated and reliable On-Call Snow Staffing Support personnel to assist with snow and ice management operations during winter weather events. This is an as-needed, on-call seasonal position that requires prompt response during snow or ice events to ensure safe pedestrian access and support transit operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to snow and ice weather events as directed, mobilizing crews within required timeframes.
• Perform snow removal and ice control tasks, including:
• • Manual shoveling of snow from walkways, platforms, stairways, sidewalks, station entrances, bridges, bus loops, and parking areas.
  • Application of de-icing materials (salt, brine, sand, etc.).
  • Operate or support mechanical snow-removal tools and equipment (e.g., snow blowers, plows where applicable).
• Ensure a safe environment for pedestrians and transit users during inclement weather conditions.
• Follow all safety protocols and complete required safety orientation and training prior to deployment.
• Maintain communication with supervisors or snow command personnel during events.
• Assist with other related duties during snow events as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to respond to on-call notifications on short notice and work during snow or ice events (which may include nights, weekends, and holidays).
• Physical ability to perform manual snow removal (shoveling, lifting, outdoor work in winter conditions).
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with snow and ice removal operations or winter maintenance.
• Familiarity with the Washington, DC area and WMATA properties.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed outdoors in winter conditions, including cold temperatures, snow, and ice.
• Requires physical labor and the ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate loads.

Seasonal/On-Call Nature

This position is seasonal and on-call, active primarily during winter months when snow or ice events occur. Employees must be available to mobilize when notified.
