About This Position
Infection Prevention Nurse
The Infection Prevention Nurse assists with overseeing the daily operational activities related to the hospital’s infection control program. The position involves daily surveillance of nosocomial and communicable diseases as outlined by the annual surveillance plan. The infection prevention nurse works with the Infection Prevention Manager, acting as an advocate for prevention and control of infection in the facility and monitors patient-care policies and educates staff. Specific activities: assisting with the collection and analysis of infection control data, product/procedure evaluation, infection control consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention and control strategies, education efforts directed at interventions to reduce nosocomial infection risks, implementation of changes mandated by regulatory and licensing agencies, and application of epidemiological principles to include activities directed at improving patient outcomes. Education: Associates or Bachelors in Nursing Required with current state of Tennessee. Certification: RN Required

Additional Certification Details
Professional certification in one of the Quality related areas (such as CPHQ, CCM, CIC, CPHRM, etc.) would be considered a plus. Additional training in computer applications, statistics, Lean, or Six Sigma also a considered plus.
Additional Experience Requirements
A minimum of three years clinical experience in an acute health care facility with experience in the area of Infection Control preferred.
