We're looking for a detail-oriented and team-spirited Shipping Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse crew in Indianapolis. You'll play a key role in getting our products to our Malibu Wellness customers quickly and safely.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Pick and pack inventory (Small Pack) as listed on orders received from the Customer Fulfillment Department for Malibu Wellness customers.
  • Pack inventory carefully and in a manner to avoid damages in transit.
  • Review pulled orders as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd count as necessary to assure accuracy of orders.
  • Review due dates and shipment options to ensure cost-effectiveness and timeliness of customer orders.
  • Work closely with Senior Logistics Manager to assure that all orders in DataNinja are accounted for within the Shipping Department.
  • For shipments in the freight area, provide all completed order information to the Senior Warehouse Manager & Logistics Manager for scheduling shipments.
  • Prepare all shipments to be ready for pick up at the appropriate time as indicated by the carrier (FedEx, UPS, Amazon, or other trucking company etc.), Senior Warehouse Manager or request of Senior Customer Support Manager.
  • Complete all necessary steps in preparing orders for customers with specific shipping instructions and needs for receiving inventory, including but not limited to, placing items in bags, smaller case packs, special labeling, etc.
  • Lead team members in daily tasks, aligning team members with the targeted goals and providing generalized guidance.
  • Runs pre-shift huddles to review previous day performance, set quotas for current day, address issues, and prepare the team for successful order processing.
  • Completes a daily operational checklist at the end of each shift, documenting open orders, daily goals, orders completed, issues encountered, and resolutions.
  • Post daily order processes on a visible whiteboard for team transparency.
  • Partners with Senior Logistics Manager and Plant Manager regarding area reporting and regular updates to leadership.
  • Back-up other team members in their respective area during absences and vacations in the following ways:
    1. Pick, pack and ship outgoing small pack shipments as needed and request by team members, including items not in inventory
    2. Receive incoming small pack shipments including the daily US Mail, and provide to the appropriate team member
  • Crosstrain as back-up to another shipping area [Amazon, freight (LTL),].
  • Assist in the research as needed of any and all errors and damages.
  • Assist in organization of warehouse, including the implementation of policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with the Senior Warehouse Manager to maintain accuracy in inventory, including Material Requisition forms and Damaged Goods Forms.
  • Communicate with Senior Customer Support Manager with any questions on customer orders or changes which need to be made due to incorrect case quantities, incomplete addresses, and/or potential backorders.
  • Notify Senior Warehouse Manager and/or Senior Customer Support Manager in the event of a potential backorder.
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders within a 24 to 48-hour time frame, or to meet due date indicated by customer.
  • Re-stock empty bins with available inventory released and tagged from Production as directed by either Senior Warehouse Manager or Logistics Manager.
  • Work with fellow team members to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience in shipping and/or receiving.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, walk, stand, push and pull various items.
  • Ability to move around the warehouse.

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily performed inside the warehouse.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels, vibration, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, and moving objects or other vehicles.
  • May be exposed to cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions.
