About This Position
Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Facilities & Shop Maintenance Operator to join our growing team. This is a versatile, hands-on role that supports daily shop operations, facility cleanliness, light machine operation, and local part logistics. Prior cleaning experience is required; training is provided for all other areas of the role.
Cleaning & Sanitation (~50%)
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor, including chip cleanup, coolant spills, and debris removal
• Clean machines inside and out, including chip removal, coolant levels, and component wipe-downs
• Clean and sweep all facility areas including bathrooms, kitchen, and office spaces
• Empty trash, remove litter, and keep the facility organized and presentable at all times
Machine Operation (~25%)
• Operate CNC and/or manual machines under supervision per work instructions and job travelers
• Load and unload parts and raw materials; follow work instructions, routers, and basic blueprints
• Perform basic part inspection using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Deburr, clean, and mark parts as required; monitor machines and report issues to supervisors
Facility Maintenance (~12.5%)
• Perform periodic equipment checks and report or address issues as detected
• Assist with light plumbing, carpentry, painting, and furniture assembly as needed
• Support renovation and demolition prep work, including breaking down structures and hauling materials
• Assist other departments as needed, including Shipping & Receiving and Assembly
Driving & Parts Logistics (~12.5%)
• Operate a company vehicle to perform local, same-day part deliveries and pickups
• Ensure parts and materials are transported safely and delivered on time
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the company vehicle
• Complete any required delivery documentation accurately
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior cleaning experience required (commercial, industrial, or janitorial)
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to read basic measurements and instructions
• Attention to detail and quality
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
Preferred (Not Required)
• Previous manufacturing, shop, or janitorial experience
• Basic knowledge of measuring tools
• Exposure to CNC machining or job shop environments
• Prior experience in a driver or delivery role
