The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
The operations manager (OM) oversees the daily technical operation within the Breast Center,
The OM supervises lead and technical staff, coordinates staffing levels for all modalities, assures accuracy and quality of the radiologic images, and develops direct reports,
The OM is also responsible for contributing to the development of program budgets, policy and procedure, contractual agreements, compliance with regulatory standards and contributes to achieving departmental and organizational goals through Lean methodology,
Education:
Must be a graduate of an approved Radiology Technology Program
Bachelor s Degree in a health-related field preferred and or BSN preferred,
Experience:
Must have three to five years experience in Mammography
Previous Lead or Chief tech experience required,
Experience in Mammography QA/QC
Must have MQSA inspection and ACR accreditation experience
Certificate(s)/Licensure(s): Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR,
NJ state license and ARRT in Mammography certification and current active registration/and or NJ state Nursing license,
Interrelationships: Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with good verbal and written English skills,
Must maintain professional demeanor and perform duties effectively in stressful/emergent situations,
Must be able to work independently and complete assignment with minimal supervision,
Must possess leadership skills and the ability to motivate people,
Management and supervision of modality/daily operational planning 50%
Guides and approves schedules for all technical staff for specified modality
Assures that work is prioritized correctly and assigned appropriately to meet daily workload
Guides and supervises staff in accomplishing departmental and hospital goals through one-on-one meetings and staff meetings
Monitors staff activities to assure accurate and thorough completion of assignments,
Performs all employee evaluations timely and assists in completion of performance evaluations for employees supervised,
Participates in the interviewing and selection process
Identifies performance deficiencies and adheres to progressive discipline after reviewing problems with department head,
Quality Improvement/benchmarks/turnaround time/lean 20%
Uses benchmarks and other resources to inform independent decisions,
Cooperates with system and procedures established to ensure the highest level of patient care provided,
Advises appropriate personnel of quality problems and or makes recommendations for improvement,
Reports on all quality performance issues to the Director,
Participates in quality improvement activities and committees as required,
Competent and knowledgeable of Lean Principles; lead lean initiatives and contribute to on-going lean program success,
Maintains documentation as dictated by regulatory bodies,
Development and Management of Personnel:
Participates in the interviewing and selection process
Facilitates the orientation process for new employees,
Works with preceptor/orientee to solve any problems
Reviews and manages clinical ladder applications as per modality or license,
Serves as a mentor and provides real time feedback,
Financial Management 5%
Runs and reviews weekly overtime report,
Manages and monitors both salary and non-salary costs,
Reviews cost per case tracking report monthly,
Contributes to monthly variance explanations,
Uses business models to generate reports and other documentation of opportunities for revenue growth and productivity improvements,
Communication and Organizational Effectiveness 5%
Provides positive and negative feedback to others in a courteous and respectful manner,
Contributes to a harmonious working relationship by dealing with conflicts in a constin accordance with organizational goals and other quality improvement surveys and standards,
Acts as a role model in customer relations and responds to information regarding patient, physician, and staff satisfaction,
