About This Position

Description:

The Installation Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting with the installation, repair, and service of residential and light commercial garage doors and related components while learning the skills needed to grow into an Installation Technician role. This role requires mechanical aptitude, professionalism when working with customers, and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork. No direct garage door experience is required for the right candidate willing to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with service calls to customer jobsites or residences to troubleshoot issues and support repair or replacement solutions

· Learn to install and repair garage doors under supervision

· Assist with installation and programming of garage door openers and remotes

· Adhere to assigned service call schedules and communicate changes with customers and/or the service coordinator

· Safely operate and drive a company vehicle to and from jobsites, if authorized

· Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained company vehicle

· Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers, coworkers, and leadership

· Assist coworkers as needed to ensure timely job completion

· Learn to install or repair windows and/or doors as needed

· Work in the warehouse to organize, restock, and receive materials

· Perform proper inventory handling, organization, and cycle counts

· Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices

· Participate in hands-on training and follow direction from experienced team members

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

· Willingness to learn how to use hand and power tools

· Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials

· Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

· Reliable, punctual, and dependable

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Professional customer service and communication skills

· Willingness to learn a skilled trade and grow within the company

Preferred Qualifications

· Prior experience in construction, warehouse, delivery, installation, or building materials

· Experience using hand and power tools

· Warehouse or inventory experience

· Interest in growing into an Installation Technician role
