Position Summary
Aitia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development executive with a strong background in neurosciences to join our dynamic team. The Sr. Director of Business Development will play an important role in driving the strategic leadership and growth of our business. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data science, AI, and drug R&D to advance precision medicine and help discover and develop new therapies that lead to better outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities
Market Analysis and Strategy: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive landscapes. Develop and implement strategic plans to expand Aitia's presence.
Business Expansion: Develop, lead and execute the strategy of business development initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations in alignment with our mission to apply causal AI and our Digital Twins across indications. Identify potential partners, negotiate agreements, and manage relationships to drive growth.
Client Engagement: Identify, build, and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in pharmaceutical companies. Understand their needs, present Aitia's solutions effectively, and tailor offerings to address each client's specific challenges.
Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing opportunities that leverage Aitia's Digital Twins and other revenue streams such as licensing and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation and delivery.
Thought Leadership: Represent Aitia at industry conferences, seminars, and events. Act as a subject matter expert, sharing insights and contributing to the company's thought leadership.

Qualifications
Required

  • Ph.D., M.S., or equivalent in a biological or related field with a strong academic and research background.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in business development and sales, particularly in the healthcare or life sciences industry, with experience in consultative selling.
  • Deep knowledge of pharma R&D and a passion for advancing precision medicine.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker and team player with the ability to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Established network of connections across pharma and biotech, with experience selling large-scale analytics solutions into pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the U.S. or globally.
  • Ability to travel as needed to establish and maintain client relationships.
Preferred
  • Ph.D. in a biological or related field (preferred over M.S.).
  • Strong background in neurosciences.

Salary Range for this role is $180,000-$260,000 for base annual salary. Compensation for this role will depend on several factors including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills and ability.
