About This Position

The Housekeeping Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for leading, motivating, and developing the housekeeping staff while ensuring Hilton’s high standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and brand excellence. This role reports directly to the Director of Housekeeping and oversees daily operations, training, scheduling, budgeting, and inventories.
Leadership & Team Development:Inspire and lead the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service while fostering a positive, EPIC culture: Enthusiastic, Positive, Intuitive, Caring.Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team members to meet and exceed hotel and department standards.Conduct staff meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback to develop talent and maintain high morale.Maintain open and clear communication with all departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.Operations & Quality Management:Oversee daily housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, function rooms, laundry, and restaurants.Conduct inspections to ensure rooms and public spaces meet Hilton’s cleanliness and appearance standards.Manage staffing schedules, labor costs, and departmental budgets, adjusting staffing based on occupancy forecasts.Maintain inventory and par levels for linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.Ensure proper use, storage, and labeling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous supplies, adhering to safety protocols.Collaborate with other departments to coordinate VIP rooms, special requests, and room availability updates.Guest Experience & Brand Standards:Ensure that all rooms and public areas are prepared to exceed guest expectations.Respond to guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally.Reinforce Hilton brand standards in every aspect of operations, from cleanliness to guest interactions.Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with hotel rules, Hilton brand standards, and local safety regulations.Train staff on PPE usage, chemical handling, and safe operational practices.Address any operational or safety issues promptly to maintain a secure environment for guests and team members.Education & Experience:High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in hotel housekeeping, Boston or regional experience preferred.Skills & Abilities:Outstanding leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.Ability to handle physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and kneeling.Ability to work flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Other Requirements:Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance according to Canopy standards.Ability to handle internal and external guests with patience, tact, and diplomacy.At Canopy by Hilton Boston Downtown, we’re more than just a hotel we’re a place where guests and team members feel inspired, cared for, and empowered to create memorable experiences.
