Commercial Service Technician at Matheny Motors – Woodbridge, Virginia

Position Summary:

We are looking for experienced Emergency Vehicle Technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using electronic diagnostic tools and laptop computers.
• Be proficient with any hand tools needed to diagnose trucks.
• Ensures repairs are completed in accordance with the supervisor’s instructions and are done in an accurate manner.
• Maintains correct time clock punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Stay up to date on all assigned OEM training.
• Tag parts as required and follow all warranty procedures set by each OEM.
• Complete repairs by OEM SRT standards.
• CDL certified drivers test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure they are still in proper working order.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Keep customer vehicles clean during the repair process and after the completion of repairs.
• Perform road calls as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• One-year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office, experience with CDK a plus.
• Emergency Vehicle Experience preferred
• A professional set of tools is required.
• Be able to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, squatting, standing and lifting heavy objects up to 70 lbs.
• CDL preferred.
