JOB SUMMARY:
Are you a dedicated Registered Dietitian (RD) passionate about improving the health and well-being of residents through nutrition? We are seeking a part-time Dietitian to lead and support our nutrition services, ensuring residents receive high-quality, individualized care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate residents’ nutritional status and provide recommendations to the clinical team.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized nutritional care plans in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines.
• Complete nutritional assessments on admission, readmission, quarterly, annually, and with any significant change in condition.
• Monitor residents for weight changes, skin integrity concerns, and nutrition support needs; make appropriate recommendations.
• Review and update diet orders; ensure accuracy and compliance with prescribed diets and modifications.
• Observe meal service to ensure residents receive correct diets and appropriate assistance as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal resident outcomes.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition, dietary needs, and therapeutic diets.
• Review menus and dietary practices to ensure compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations.
• Conduct routine audits of nutritional services and documentation.
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary discussions as needed.
• Support survey readiness and participate in state and federal inspections as required.
• Ensure compliance with all facility policies, including infection control, safety, and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Current Connecticut licensure in Nutrition/Dietetics (or eligibility).
• Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.
