We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Baylor Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. This weekend Baylor position (24 hours/week) offers a unique opportunity to earn incentive pay ($80 per shift) while playing a critical role in supporting safe and efficient medication distribution in an acute care setting.
Working under the direction of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and Clinical Pharmacist, you will support daily pharmacy operations including medication preparation, compounding, inventory management, and automated dispensing systems (Pyxis/Omnicell).
This is an ideal opportunity for a certified pharmacy technician seeking weekend hospital hours, incentive pay, and hands-on clinical pharmacy experience.
Schedule & Compensation Highlights- Baylor Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (24 hours/week)
- Incentive Pay: Additional $80 per shift (on top of base hourly rate)
- Consistent weekend schedule with strong work-life balance during weekdays
- Prepare, package, and distribute medications in accordance with hospital pharmacy protocols
- Handle and manage controlled substances (Schedule II–VI) in compliance with regulations
- Stock, refill, and maintain automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis/Omnicell)
- Prepare unit-dose medications and assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding
- Deliver medications to patient care areas in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain accurate inventory control and medication tracking
- Support nursing staff, physicians, and patients with medication-related requests
- Escalate clinical questions or concerns to the pharmacist on duty
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferred
Experience
- Previous experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician strongly preferred
- Experience with automated dispensing systems and medication distribution preferred
Licensure & Certification
- Current Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication safety
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and distribution
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy systems, EMR, and inventory software
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
