Maintenance Technician
Vacation Resort Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the resorts facilities, guest rooms, and grounds are safe, fully functional, and maintained to the highest standards. This position is responsible for performing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to service requests to support an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- General Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues reported by guests or resort staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, buildings, equipment, and common areas to identify and address potential issues proactively. Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
- Preventive Maintenance Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on building systems, guest units, pools, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and service logs. Monitor and adjust building systems such as lighting, temperature controls, and automatic systems.
- Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, chemical handling, and equipment operation procedures.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with resort policies, building codes, and local regulations.
- Resort Operations Support Assist housekeeping and guest services with maintenance-related support (e.g., replacing fixtures, resolving room issues).
- Set up, move, or repair furniture and resort equipment as needed.
- Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and replacement parts; notify management when supplies need replenishment.
- Maintain cleanliness of workshop areas, maintenance equipment, and resort facilities.
Qualifications
Previous experience in facilities maintenance , hotel/resort maintenance, or a related trade preferred. Basic knowledge of multiple trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC). Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Ability to lift, push, and carry heavy objects; comfortable working indoors and outdoors. Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
