Laundry Attendant at OCI Hospitality – Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Position Summary:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linens for the facility, ensuring all laundry is cleaned, dried, folded, and stored properly. This role plays a key part in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items.
• Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
• Track inventory of linens and report shortages or excesses.
• Follow proper procedures for handling contaminated or soiled items.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with delivery and distribution of clean laundry to designated areas.
• Perform minor maintenance on laundry equipment as needed.
• Support other housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in laundry or housekeeping is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and safety procedures.
