Position Description:
The Adult High School Teacher delivers high-quality, student-centered instruction to adult learners working toward high school completion. Instruction is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and tailored to meet the academic, social, and life needs of adult students.
This role is critical in creating an engaging, supportive, and flexible learning environment that helps students persist, build confidence, and achieve their academic and career goals. The Adult High School Teacher combines strong instructional practice with relationship-building, differentiation, and a deep commitment to student success.
We are specifically seeking certified teachers with demonstrated interest and expertise in teaching one or more of the following Grade 9 through 12 subject areas:
- English
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Special Education
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Superintendent of Restore TECH Academy.

Location: Restore TECH Academy at Restore Education’s Eastside Campus
Responsibilities
- Instruction and Curriculum
- Provide high-quality instruction in assigned core content areas to ensure student mastery of TEKS.
- Develop, implement, and revise lesson plans, projects, and assessments aligned with district curriculum and Restore TECH Academy standards.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies including direct instruction, seminars, small group learning, and blended/online learning.
- Differentiate instruction using assessment data and knowledge of adult and diverse learners, including varied academic backgrounds, life responsibilities, and learning needs.
- Collaborate with special education teachers to implement IEPs and required accommodations.
- Student Growth and Support
- Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments.
- Provide flexible tutorials, interventions, and academic support designed for adult learners balancing work, family, and school.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and progress records.
- Build strong relationships with students to support persistence, engagement, and goal attainment.
- Classroom Management and Communication
- Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school and district policies.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with students and colleagues.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and committees.
- Support the mission, vision, and goals of the school and district.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certification in appropriate secondary content area(s).
- Demonstrated success increasing student achievement.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems.
- Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas ESL Certification.
- Master’s degree in education or a related field.
- Three or more years of certified teaching experience.
- Experience teaching adult learners or in alternative education settings.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong alignment with Restore TECH Academy’s mission, vision, and values.
- Understanding of socioemotional, behavioral, and academic needs in an education setting.
- Ability to build trust and maintain consistent, supportive relationships with adult students.
- Ability to support students through socioeconomic and behavioral challenges.
- Strong instructional skills, including lesson planning, pacing, and delivery aligned to TEKS.
- Ability to engage students through a variety of instructional strategies and learning formats.
- Ability to differentiate instruction based on student data and individual learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Schedule
- Full-time, approximately 195 workdays, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required during peak enrollment and reporting periods. Some evenings and weekends may be required to support school events and operational needs. Schedule is subject to change based on school needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary starting at $60,000, based on experience, credentials, and teacher pay scale; salary is paid on a 12-month basis

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work requires visual acuity, speech, and hearing to effectively deliver instruction and communicate with students. Duties include standing, walking, and moving around the classroom for extended periods of time, as well as sitting, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting of materials up to 20 pounds as needed to perform essential functions. Requires the use of standard classroom and office equipment, including computers and instructional technology.
