Summary:
The Project Manager will oversee project scheduling, budgeting, purchasing coordination, logistics, and client communication for structural steel and plate fabrication projects. This role will support project execution from contract review through production and delivery while ensuring efficiency, quality, and schedule adherence within a fabrication environment.
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, and project scope adjustments
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and proposals to support successful project execution
- Coordinate communication between clients, shop operations, subcontractors, and internal departments
- Develop work-back schedules, milestones, and production timelines
- Coordinate purchasing activities and material flow to maintain project schedules
- Manage material tickets, nesting lists, packing lists, and shop documentation
- Oversee transportation logistics, shipping schedules, and delivery coordination
- Review fabrication drawings for accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Support production operations with a builders mentality to improve workflow and project success
- Maintain strong customer relationships while resolving project-related issues quickly and professionally
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within steel fabrication or structural steel environments
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, change orders, and fabrication projects
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and understand fabrication terminology
- Knowledge of steel fabrication standards including AISC, ASME, API, AWS, and ASTM standards
- Experience with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems
- Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing ASME-certified projects preferred
Education:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Equivalent industry experience considered
Salary: $85K-$110K
