Position Description
The Family Office Accountant will be part of the Family Office team and duties include the following:
- Perform accounting functions including bank reconciliations, daily cash monitoring and reporting, monthly GL closes including journal entries, bookkeeping for family-owned domestic and foreign for-profit entities.
- Monthly financial statement and supporting schedule preparation for investments, for-profit companies, foundations, estate planning vehicles and personal wealth statements.
- Support preparation of VAT returns
- Preparation of monthly financial statement reporting packages
- Preparation of internal & external budgets
- Preparation and/or review of annual audit workpapers
- Special projects as advised by the Director and/or Client – varies every year
- Liaison with internal colleagues, outside consultants and other Chilton offices. Candidate must feel comfortable communicating with family members and helping to fulfill requests that may be outside scope of traditional accounting duties in tandem with Family Office team.
Candidate Description
This is a busy single-family office team which provides complete reporting, analyses and work products to its clients. Multiple projects and entities ranging from foundations, trusts, for profit businesses, and investment holdings will allow for personal challenges and developmental growth.
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelors’ degree in accounting with 2-4 years’ experience in public accounting, tax and/or financial positions. Candidate should have excellent Microsoft Office and strong research skills. knowledge of Quick Books software system is a plus. Candidate should be comfortable communicating at all levels, including with Family representatives and should be receptive to developing the critical skills necessary to build and sustain strong client and team relationships
