About This Position
Pharmacy Technician II - PRN

Work hours: PRN (As Needed) Rotating shifts to include days, evenings, nights and weekends, with holiday rotation
Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience
• 6 Months experience in a hospital pharmacy Required
Licenses and Certifications
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required And

Tasks specific to Tech II:

Our central location provides convenient care to people in the DFW Metroplex and all across North Texas and Oklahoma. This new building will bring the latest in obstetric care to North Texas as well as a new breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and a 10-bed expansion to our emergency department.

What You Will Do
Tasks specific to Tech II:
- Functionality requiring additional competency above Tech I, may require less supervision than a Tech I
- Autonomous responsibility either with record keeping or as a single point of contact outside the department
- Advanced technology expertise and ownership
- Delegated functions of pharmacy leadership (manager or lead technicians)
- Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
- Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
- Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
- Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
- Manages own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies. Validates competency completion for new employees.
