This role is focused on leading full-cycle Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations for complex enterprise environments. You will take ownership of end-to-end solution delivery, from discovery and design through to deployment, cutover, and post-go-live stabilisation. The position requires a strong blend of functional finance expertise, solution architecture capability, and hands-on system configuration experience. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable ERP solutions. The role is highly delivery-focused, requiring the ability to make key design decisions while ensuring compliance, control, and operational efficiency. You will also oversee integrations, data migration, and system validation to ensure successful implementation outcomes. This is a remote freelance opportunity for an experienced consultant who thrives in fast-paced ERP transformation environments.

• Lead discovery and solution design workshops, translating business requirements into standard-aligned Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions.
• Define and document solution architecture, including chart of accounts, financial dimensions, legal entities, intercompany structures, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Produce key design artefacts such as High-Level Design (HLD), Functional Design Documents (FDDs), and gap-fit analysis with mitigation strategies.
• Own hands-on configuration of core D365 F&O modules including Finance, GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Budgeting, and VAT compliance.
• Configure system security roles, segregation of duties, and ensure alignment with audit and regulatory requirements.
• Lead integration design with external systems such as HR, payroll, banking, and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI).
• Define and support data migration strategy, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation of financial data.
• Oversee testing, cutover planning, and go-live execution, ensuring smooth transition into production.
• Collaborate with technical teams to validate integrations and ensure financial data integrity across systems.
• Drive post-go-live support and stabilisation activities to ensure system performance and adoption.

• 8–12+ years of experience in Dynamics AX / Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations.
• Proven track record of delivering multiple full end-to-end ERP implementations (not limited to support or upgrade projects).
• Strong hands-on expertise in D365 F&O Finance modules including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, VAT, and financial reporting.
• Experience leading projects across all phases: discovery, design, build, testing, go-live, and hypercare.
• Strong understanding of finance processes including month-end close, statutory reporting, and multi-entity accounting.
• Ability to configure systems independently with a strong preference for standard functionality over customisation.
• Experience working directly with senior finance stakeholders and translating business needs into ERP solutions.
• Strong documentation, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience in UK-based implementations and VAT/statutory reporting is highly desirable.
• Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, and project-based environments is an advantage.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications (Finance, Supply Chain, or Solution Architect) are strongly preferred.
