Social Media Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Social Media Manager in Italy.

This role is at the intersection of gaming culture, community building, and high-impact digital storytelling, focused on growing one of the most recognizable mobile gaming communities in Africa. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the social media strategy across multiple platforms, driving engagement, virality, and audience growth. Working closely with global publishing partners and internal creative teams, you will translate live game events and regional moments into compelling social content. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and deeply rooted in gaming culture, requiring both creative instincts and analytical thinking. You will also manage a distributed creative team, ensuring consistent content production across video and design. This is a high-ownership role where your work directly influences brand visibility, community engagement, and player retention across multiple countries.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute the social media growth strategy for gaming channels across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and X, with a focus on regional audience engagement.
  • Identify viral trends and adapt them for the African gaming community, ensuring content remains culturally relevant and platform-native.
  • Manage and grow an active online gaming community by engaging directly with followers and fostering long-term fan loyalty.
  • Coordinate with global publishing stakeholders, managing approvals, timelines, and content alignment in a fast-moving environment.
  • Oversee content calendars aligned with in-game updates, live operations, and regional events such as tournaments and seasonal campaigns.
  • Manage a cross-functional creative team including video editors and designers, providing briefs, feedback, and ensuring high-quality, on-brand output.
  • Track, analyze, and report social media performance metrics, using insights to continuously optimize content strategy and engagement.
  • Manage content production budgets, ensuring efficient allocation across creators, tools, and production resources.
  • Represent the brand at gaming events across Africa and translate on-ground insights into actionable content strategies.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in social media management, ideally within gaming, entertainment, or youth-focused digital media.
  • Strong passion for gaming, particularly FPS titles or Call of Duty Mobile, with a deep understanding of gaming culture and communities.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage large-scale social media channels with measurable engagement and audience growth.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating across global teams and tight deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret social media metrics and optimize content performance accordingly.
  • Understanding of how paid media and amplification strategies support organic social growth.
  • Experience working with creative teams, including designers and video editors, with the ability to provide clear briefs and feedback.
  • Bonus: Hands-on skills in short-form video editing tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects) and design tools (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator), as well as familiarity with AI-assisted content creation tools.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote, global-first work environment with teammates across 15+ countries.
  • Opportunity to work on a flagship gaming franchise with global visibility and impact.
  • Equity participation, allowing you to share in the company’s long-term growth.
  • Remote working allowance to improve your home office setup.
  • Co-working and travel opportunities to collaborate with international teammates in person.
  • Learning and development support, including access to courses, training, and industry events.
  • Regular company-wide social events to build connection and community.
  • Paid birthday leave for personal time off.
