We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated team at Hampton Park Dental in Ottawa . In this key professional role, you will be instrumental in identifying and executing the dental hygiene treatment plan, ensuring that patient oral health remains the primary focus.

  Tues-Thurs: 8-4pm

  Friday 8-3pm

The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of patient care for the best possible outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

• Patient Assessments & Treatment Planning:

  • Medical health history screening and updates.

  • Conduct baseline and routine assessments (including full mouth charting, probing, and oral cancer screening).

  • Identify conditions and oral diseases such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis.

  • Develop Dental Hygiene treatment planning including patient-specific preventive care (scaling, prophy, fluoride, etc., as required).

• Clinical Procedures:

  • Radiographs and impressions (as prescribed by the Dentist), and intra-oral photos.

  • Use best practices for infection control, including processing instruments and treatment rooms.

• Patient Education & Documentation:

  • Educate patients by providing oral hygiene instructions, plaque control instructions, and postoperative instructions as required.

  • Maintain accurate documentation/charting.

• Team Collaboration & Administration:

  • Identify gaps in the clinical schedule and assist with scheduling, such as booking preventive recall appointments and following up with outstanding treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with colleagues (Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Dentists, and Administration) during downtime.

  • Attend continuing education events from time to time.

• Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene.

• Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO.

• Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail.

• A friendly personality who works collaboratively with a team.
