The Opportunity: Dental HygienistWe are looking for a Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated team at Hampton Park Dental in Ottawa . In this key professional role, you will be instrumental in identifying and executing the dental hygiene treatment plan, ensuring that patient oral health remains the primary focus.

ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of patient care for the best possible outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
Patient Assessments & Treatment Planning:
Medical health history screening and updates.
Conduct baseline and routine assessments (including full mouth charting, probing, and oral cancer screening).
Identify conditions and oral diseases such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis.
Develop Dental Hygiene treatment planning including patient-specific preventive care (scaling, prophy, fluoride, etc., as required).
Clinical Procedures:
Radiographs and impressions (as prescribed by the Dentist), and intra-oral photos.
Use best practices for infection control, including processing instruments and treatment rooms.
Patient Education & Documentation:
Educate patients by providing oral hygiene instructions, plaque control instructions, and postoperative instructions as required.
Maintain accurate documentation/charting.
Team Collaboration & Administration:
Identify gaps in the clinical schedule and assist with scheduling, such as booking preventive recall appointments and following up with outstanding treatment plans.
Collaborate with colleagues (Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Dentists, and Administration) during downtime.
Attend continuing education events from time to time.
Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO.
Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail.
A friendly personality who works collaboratively with a team.
