About This Position
Oncology Financial Navigator
SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Patient Financial Services Supervisor, this position plays a crucial role in providing financial guidance and support to oncology patients and their families. The Oncology Financial Navigator assists patients in understanding their insurance benefits, navigating the complexities of medical billing, and finding assistance programs. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of healthcare finance.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years experience in financial counseling, healthcare billing, or a related field, preferably within an oncology setting.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong knowledge of insurance policies, billing procedures, and financial assistance programs; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and compassionate manner; exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism; excellent judgement skills in handling difficult situations; ability to work in fast-paced environment; ability to problem solve issues where analysis and complex decision making is required; decisions and actions have direct impact on hospital financials.
OTHER: Knowledge of 501(r) requirements and state resources preferred.
EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
