About This Position
Chinook Equipment is looking for an experienced, high-performing General Manager to lead operations across our growing equipment dealership group.
Comprised of 4 branches across Alberta, we are a family-owned business that serves the agricultural and construction industries through equipment sales, rentals, service and parts. Headquartered in Southern Alberta, we serve our customers with branches located in Lethbridge, Pincher Creek, Strathmore and Nisku.
The General Manager will be responsible for acting as the day-to-day leader of the Chinook Equipment organization through development of teams, driving performance and consistency across all locations and spearheading new business opportunities to scale and shape the future of the company.

While the General Manager will be expected to live and work in Lethbridge, regular presence across all branches is expected. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and performance-based bonus, plus a comprehensive benefit plan.
Key Accountabilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee entire company performance across sales, rentals, service and parts operations
- Lead, support and coach Branch Managers and key department leaders to ensure alignment and strong operational execution
- Model and champion our company values in day-to-day leadership to create a positive, motivating workplace
Strategic Relationships
- Manage and strengthen relationships with our key equipment manufacturers and suppliers
- Liaise with key suppliers and all OEM partners to ensure alignment with stakeholder objectives and negotiate favorable terms while ensuring quality of products and services
- Ensure overall customer experience is executed to promote and retain customer loyalty
Initiatives in Business Development
- Lead the rebuild and expansion of the rental division for compact and heavy equipment lines
- Develop and execute a strong attachment sales strategy
- Build a scalable, structured process for used equipment procurement, valuation and resale
Growth & Expansion
- Support the development and launch of future Chinook Equipment branches
- Identify operational improvements and growth opportunities, ensuring Chinook Equipment is positioned for long-term success
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven leadership ability and teambuilding skills to effectively lead teams through operational execution, change and growth
- Strong business acumen in equipment sales and operations with proficiency in analyzing financial statements
- Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously while navigating complex multi-location operations
- Strong analytical and decision making skills with continuous improvement pedigree
- Results driven with exceptional strategic planning, organization and execution skills
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees
- A minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in a leadership capacity within the heavy equipment industry
- A valid Driver's License and satisfactory completion of a criminal and credit background check
