Job Description

Sales and Business Development Professional


Must be based out of Mumbai Region

Performs all activities and processes related to contractual exchange of products and services with customer organizations.

Discipline Description

Customer facing and selling role (quotas) responsible for traditional, face-to-face outside sales conducted primarily through direct interaction with customers. Primary focus of role is growing sales and market share by converting new customers and managing/retaining and increasing sales to existing customers. May sell a combination of products, solutions, and/or service agreements.

• Owns the execution of strategy and the operational direction for West India region.

• Focuses on tactical and operational plans with short- to medium-term focus (e.g., less than 1 year to 1 - 2 years).

• Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.

Responsibility Statements

Acts as the primary contact with the highly visible and/or strategic prospects, develops a professional relationship with the purpose of understanding and meeting the customer needs and within the bounds of contracted scope.

Leads business development activities for strategic prospects to support the business strategy defined by executive leadership.

Identifies bid opportunities, reviews final bid responses with team, negotiates with potential large/complex customers and builds and maintains customer relationships to win projects.

Contacts potential large/strategic prospects to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services in order to create new client base and increase sales.

Guides team to write proposals, presents new business proposals for large/strategic prospects, negotiates value, addresses resistance in order to develop business.

Participates as the management team representative on prospective target accounts and territories. Maintains personal pipeline and customer log. Hunting for opportunities. Establishes personal long-term customer relationships with prospective accounts.

Identify key end users and target markets to develop opportunities in the India markets.

Plan and organize sales visits and provide regular reports, market information, competitor information and customer feedback to the Company. This includes information to enhance product development.

Accurate and timely forecasting of sales opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● 3-5+ years of proven track record in regional sales management: Fire Protection Industry preferred

● Distribution/channel territory development experience required

● Experience in preparing and presenting technical and sales presentations to distribution, end users, the A&E community, and other influencers

● Experience in negotiations of contractual agreements and understanding of legal compliance

● Excellent communication skills, written and oral

● Ability to set priorities, multi-task and follow through on an assignment without redirection

● Proven initiative, enthusiasm, organization, and creativity

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook

● Ability to travel a minimum of 40%

● Bachelor or Masters degree in Business, Engineering or related field preferred
