Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate discipline (IT, Counseling, Psychology, Teaching and Learning, Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, or related area)

Required Experience:
3+ years directly related experience with appropriate adult population with disability(ies). Comprehensive, working knowledge of assistive technology (i.e. Jaws, Dragon, Zoomtext, Kurzweil, Read and Write, VoiceOver, (iOS and Mac) and NVDA. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office accessibility checkers and Adobe Acrobat Pro accessibility checker. Document remediation experience (i.e. PDF to Word doc remediation and PDF to Braille remediation). Working knowledge of Optical Character Recognition programs, such as ABBYY FineReader, OmniPage, INFTY Reader. Working knowledge of WCAG 2.0.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years Experience within a higher education setting working with undergraduate and graduate level students. Experience evaluating disability documentation, arranging accommodations. Experience creating tactile graphics

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills. . Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding ADA and compliance in higher education. Ability to learn new computer systems as advances in technology are made. Train individuals in the use of adaptive systems. Remain current on assistive technology trends. Effectively communicate technical and complex information both in writing and verbally. Analyze and resolve problems.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
