Job Description
SUMMARY
This is a seasonal position that runs December through March every year and assists the Human Resources Director in a variety of HR Functions with a focus on recruitment, onboarding and electronic file maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with recruitment strategies to ensure the FSFA is fully staffed for the Annual State Fair.
- Oversee onboarding process to make sure all new employees feel welcome and valued.
- Work with HR Director to ensure employee data is accurate.
- House and maintain electronic employee files (includes scanning and sorting electronic files).
- Provide assistance by answering questions and requests from employees and managers.
- Maintain employee reliance and payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Provide assistance (as needed) in the planning of the Governor's and Ag Woman of the Year Luncheons.
- Process paperwork for all incoming Sheriff's Deputies.
- Assist HR Director with increased workload to maintain compliance with federal, state and company policies.
- Other additional duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Some experience in Human Resources required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with HRIS systems (experience with Paylocity a plus)
- Strong clerical and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and switch gears quickly
- Excellent customer service skills in person and on the phone and a helpful and friendly demeanor
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products with an emphasis in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal employment rules and laws
- Ability to work additional hours including evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Operates computer and standard office equipment, such as telephone and copier/printer. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, occasionally climb or balance and lift or move (more than 20 pounds).
