Laboratory Research Technician

The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking a Research Technician to support the Cahoon Lab. This individual will support technical aspects of day-to-day lab operations. This includes record keeping, maintaining lab space and equipment tidiness, strain collection organization. This individual will also provide technical support for the lab including making media and reagents, overseeing glassware washing and sterility as well as other lab chores, and assisting with routine lab assays as needed.

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.

Essential Functions Record keeping, Lab maintenance including lab supply cleaning and organization, Preparing samples for processing.

Physical Effort Position will require standing the majority of the workday, along with moving throughout the building complex.
