Position Summary:
Arkansas State University is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Chief of Staff for its football program. The ideal candidate will oversee all off-field football staff, serving as a key liaison across a wide range of areas, including admissions, housing, compliance, human resources, and more. This individual will play a critical role in managing the logistics of the program, including team travel, NCAA compliance, recruiting, team building, and community service initiatives. The Chief of Staff will ensure smooth operations, streamline communications, and support the overall success of the football program.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of previous experience in football program operations or athletic administration is highly desirable
This is a full-time position based at Arkansas State University with a competitive salary and benefits package. The Chief of Staff will work closely with the head coach and other staff members to ensure the success of the football program.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Liaison Responsibilities:
- Serve as liaison between Head Football Coach and support staff
- Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple departments, including Admissions, Housing, Parents, Compliance, Human Resources, Marketing, Sports Information, and Video
- Serve as lead representative for football in any meetings Head Coach cannot be in attendance (example, Head Coaches Meetings)
Football Operations:
- Oversee all off-field football staff, ensuring effective coordination and execution of day-to-day operations, to include Operations, Recruiting, Graphics, IT, Graduate Assistant Program
- Assist with the management of NCAA compliance and roster management, including scholarship count, eligibility, and recruiting.
- Coordinate and manage facilities, including ensuring team needs are met for practices, games, and off-site activities.
- Coordinate and manage all team activities, both on-site and off-site, ensuring alignment with program goals.
- Manage and update Teamworks, tickets, and the football roster.
- Monitor football budget including assistant Athletics CFO with forecasting and expense tracking
Recruiting & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to NCAA recruiting rules, including recruiting calendars, communication restrictions, and eligibility checks for prospective student-athletes.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts with coaching staff, ensuring timely execution of outreach, official and unofficial visits, and evaluations of prospects.
- Manage the tracking of recruitment activities and prospects using Compliance + Recruiting Software and databases.
- Ensure compliance with scholarship limits, eligibility rules, and other NCAA regulations relating to recruitment and financial aid.
- Coordinate with admissions, compliance, and academic services to ensure all recruited athletes meet eligibility requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of compliance reports, recruiting logs, and other necessary documentation for NCAA audits.
- Facilitate continuing eligibility checks for current student-athletes, managing communication with Compliance and the Academic Department to ensure all student-athletes continue to meet NCAA standards.
- Stay updated on NCAA rule changes and communicate any updates or new procedures to the football staff and administration.
Fundraising & Community Engagement:
- Aid in fundraising efforts to support the football program.
- Coordinate community service events and help organize team-building activities.
- Provide support for NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) initiatives as per state regulations.
- Assist with the identification and prioritization of summer camps for program development.
Team and Player Support:
- Oversee football academic program, working closely with our Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services and academic advisors on schedules, study hall, etc
- Assist with the onboarding process for players, including move-in coordination and transition to campus life.
- Work with Financial Aid and Cost of Attendance (COA) to ensure student-athletes receive necessary financial support.
- Assist with FAFSA processing and related financial aid responsibilities.
