Production Operator in Cato, New York at Nutrition Bar Confectioners LLC

Job Summary

The Production Operator position is a higher-level production position. Production Operators tend to make adjustments in the processing of product, calibrating machinery, and some troubleshooting of equipment. Operators tend to perform in one of five areas: the wrapping machine, the enrober, the guillotine, the check-weigher, and the slab line.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties as assigned)

• Ensure that all equipment, machinery, and utensils are clean, free of debris, and in good condition
• Communicate any stoppages in work
• Keep are cleaned and organized
• May function in one or multiple areas including:
• Check-weigh station: checking quality of cartons, catching and reworking any rejected cartons, and communicating any quality issues with the packing lead
• Wrapping machine: foil levels and replace foil when low/out, ensuring the wrapping machine is performing correctly and that bars are properly wrapped, sealed, have the correct date code stamped on them, and communicating any issues with the wrapping lead
• Enrober operator: operate melter to ensure that there is enough melted product for the run, add coating to the enrober, keep the enrober hopper filled to optimum operating levels, and ensure that quantities and lot numbers of the coating are documented appropriately
• Guillotine operator: ensure bars are the appropriate height, width and weight by making any necessary adjustments to the slitters, belts, and guillotine as well as check weights and perform quality checks on bars coming through.
• Slab line operator: monitor the slab of product to ensure that it is the correct width, height and weight. Adjust the compression rollers to adjust the height of the bars and take sample bars to ensure weights are within product specifications

Hours:

Monday-Friday: 6:30am-3pm (end of the shift may vary based on business needs)

Pay:

$14-15/hour (DOE)
