Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation's Capital is an independent, community Jewish day school that currently offers a dual curriculum of General and Judaic studies for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. The school is distinguished by its commitment to academic excellence, talented faculty, and learning that is joyful, engaging, experiential, and enduring. MILTON is a warm, vibrant, pluralistic Jewish day school where students,families, and faculty mirror the diversity of Jewish practice in the community. The school serves more than 475 students at our Kay and Robert Schattner Center Campuses - the beautiful South Campus for Early Childhood students in Grades PK-1, and the newly renovated and expanded North Campus for Elementary and Middle School students in Grades 2-8.

Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School is searching for Math teachers for our Elementary & Middle School Division

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspire a love of math in students through teaching.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instruction in a manner that facilitates active, student-centered learning using various teaching methods such as discussions, group activities, and occasional lectures.
  • Work with students to encourage and facilitate each individual’s growth.
  • Collaborate actively with math department colleagues, including on curriculum and course planning.
  • Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
  • Work in an organized, dependable, patient, and creative manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with previous experience teaching Art of Problem Solving
  • Ability to communicate, motivate, and understand the students’ educational and emotional needs.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and members of the community.
