Position Summary

This is an ONSITE position located in Alexandria, VA.

National Capitol Contracting is seeking a Voice/Data Communications Engineer to join our team in support of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The USPTO fosters innovation and economic growth by administering the nation's patent and trademark systems. The Task Lead provides technical and operational leadership for engineering, operations, maintenance, customer support, and continuous improvement activities supporting the USPTO Microsoft 365 collaboration environment. This position is responsible for coordinating contractor personnel, managing technical priorities, overseeing service delivery, ensuring compliance and serving as the primary interface with Government leadership.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead day-to-day execution of Microsoft 365 Collaboration Tools Services.
  • Coordinate engineering, operations, maintenance, production support, and customer support activities across contractor personnel.
  • Manage technical priorities, task assignments, deliverables, schedules, and service level objectives supporting Government requirements.
  • Serve as the primary interface between contractor personnel and Government representatives for technical, operational, and project activities.
  • Oversee implementation of platform upgrades, deployments, migrations, configuration changes, testing activities, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure engineering, operational, and customer support documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with agency standards.
  • Monitor service delivery metrics, operational performance, ticket trends, outages, risks, and corrective actions while providing regular status reporting.
  • Coordinate problem resolution activities involving engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and service desk personnel.
  • Support evaluation and implementation of new Microsoft 365 collaboration capabilities, Power Platform solutions, process automation initiatives, and Microsoft Copilot technologies.
  • Ensure collaboration services are delivered in compliance with agency governance, security, accessibility, and operational requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience leading enterprise Microsoft 365 engineering or operations teams.
  • Experience managing technical projects, production support, and operational service delivery.
  • Experience supporting SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering and customer support teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • ITIL Foundation or ITIL Managing Professional certification.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 services within a Federal Government environment.

Compensation:

$135,000.00 - $140,000.00

The compensation range listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role.
