Job Summary:
The Machine Operator Assistant supports production operations by assisting Machine Operators with daily tasks, learning equipment processes, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are interested in developing skills in manufacturing and advancing into Machine Operator roles.
Job Requirements:
- Assist Machine Operators with setup, operation, and monitoring of manufacturing equipment.
- Load and unload materials, including pipe and raw materials, as directed.
- Observe machine operations to learn production processes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform basic equipment cleaning and lubrication as assigned.
- Support production needs by assisting with general labor tasks across the facility.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under close supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Education and Experience:
High school student (18+), recent graduate, or equivalent education preferred.
No prior manufacturing experience required, training will be provided.
Interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing or skilled trades is strongly encouraged.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
- Ability to withstand varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work in different positions for a very long period of time and ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time.
- Must be able to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for each job task (Steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat).
