About the Role
The External Credentialing Coordinator works closely with our External Credentialing Staff Specialist to ensure provider hospital privileging applications are accurately prefilled and contain all required credentialing information to support timely submission and approval. This role serves as a key liaison between providers, internal credentialing teams, and healthcare facilities to help ensure timely, accurate provider placements nationwide. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position provides exposure to healthcare operations, provider onboarding, credentialing, and client services, with opportunities for professional development and career growth within Hayes Locums.
What You Will Do
• Complete and maintain hospital privileging applications for physicians and advanced practice providers across a variety of healthcare facilities
• Research and collect documentation of the verification elements of a hospital privileging application
• Work in conjunction with our Internal Credentialing team to confirm the required credentialing information and supporting documents
• Partner with the External Credentialing Staff Specialist to implement client-specific protocols and templates to ensure a timely and accurate prefill
• Maintain regular communication with providers throughout the completion of the privileging application process
• Proactively communicate progress, updates, and potential issues to relevant stakeholders
• Partner with Sales Consultants and Credentialing Specialists to meet provider start-date deadlines
• Maintain confidential provider information and adhere to company policies, healthcare regulations, and credentialing standards

Work Schedule
• Your regular work schedule will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day, for a regular 40-hour work week
• Eligible for one remote workday per week after completion of a 90-day training period, subject to maintaining good standing and manager approval.
Compensation
This position offers a base pay of $24.72 per hour. Based on a regular schedule of 40 hours per week, this equates to an estimated annualized compensation of $51,417, assuming full-time employment for 52 weeks per year. Because this is a non-exempt hourly role, actual earnings may vary based on hours worked. Compensation is paid semi-monthly in accordance with the Company's regular payroll practices.
In addition to base pay, External Credentialing Coordinators are eligible to participate in a monthly performance-based incentive program. Incentive opportunities are based on the successful preparation and transfer of credentialing applications through the credentialing process, including initial applications, provider enrollment applications, and reappointment applications. Certain incentive opportunities may be subject to minimum monthly production thresholds. Incentive payments are based on the prior month's performance and are paid in accordance with the Company's regular payroll practices.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Health Administration, Healthcare Management, Business, or a related field. An associate degree combined with relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Highly organized in managing one’s schedule, duties, workflows, and responsibilities
• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Bonus Points If You Have
• Experience with CRM, credentialing, or applicant tracking systems (Salesforce, MD-Staff, or similar platforms)
• Experience in healthcare administration, credentialing, customer service, operations support, or a similar coordination-based role
