You will help design and scale computational platforms that enable researchers and partners to accelerate breakthroughs in genetic medicine.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of building and maintaining a scalable computational platform that supports scientific discovery and collaboration. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and infrastructure to production deployment and continuous improvement.

  • Build, enhance, and maintain reliable software systems supporting scientific data workflows and computational research.
  • Develop scalable cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, performance, and data lifecycle management.
  • Translate scientific and clinical needs into production-ready solutions, including APIs, pipelines, and user-facing applications.
  • Design and implement software tools that enable scientists and external partners to work efficiently with complex datasets.
  • Drive engineering quality through strong development practices, code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical mentorship.
  • Balance rapid prototyping with production reliability by delivering solutions that can scale effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, engineers, data experts, and business stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Improve platform reliability, accessibility, and operational excellence through thoughtful engineering decisions.
  • Contribute to modern AI-driven workflows, automation, and emerging technologies that enhance scientific productivity.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong full-stack and cloud engineering expertise, capable of designing robust systems while collaborating effectively in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in an industry setting.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including deployment processes, code management, environment management, and security principles.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP, including infrastructure management, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, networking, and cloud security.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or a similar language.
  • Experience designing and working with data engineering systems, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Front-end development experience with React and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with ETL system design, SQL optimization, and data processing best practices.
  • Experience working with AI technologies, including LLMs, agent-based systems, or modern AI-powered workflows, is a plus.
  • Previous experience in biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare technology, or scientific computing environments is preferred.
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to take ownership, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver results.
