Job Description
We are seeking a Tax Manager in our Broomfield, CO, Location.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee Quantinuum's global tax operations, compliance, planning, and reporting activities. This role will be responsible for managing domestic and international tax matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting strategic business initiatives, and partnering with finance and business leaders to optimize tax outcomes in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical tax expertise, a proactive approach to risk management, and the ability to navigate complex tax issues while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Manage federal, state, local, and international tax compliance processes, including income, sales/use, VAT, property, and other indirect taxes.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of tax returns, filings, and supporting documentation with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 and applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting for statutory and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain tax calendars and monitor filing deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
Tax Planning & Strategy
- Support the development and execution of tax strategies that align with business objectives and corporate growth initiatives.
- Evaluate tax implications of new business activities, legal entity structures, acquisitions, and international expansion.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the company's global tax position while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with Finance and Legal teams on strategic transactions and tax-efficient business structures.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Monitor changes in tax legislation, regulatory developments, and emerging tax issues that may impact the organization.
- Manage tax audits, inquiries, and examinations by federal, state, local, and international tax authorities.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and documentation supporting tax processes and compliance activities.
- Assess and mitigate tax risks through effective planning, governance, and process improvement
Business Partnership & Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, HR, Procurement, and other functions to provide tax guidance and support business initiatives.
- Advise leadership on tax implications of operational and strategic decisions.
- Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation efforts in collaboration with external advisors.
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and cash tax planning activities.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Drive continuous improvement of tax processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Support implementation and optimization of tax technology solutions and reporting tools.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and develop tax and finance team members, as applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- CPA, MST, or other relevant professional certification.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax compliance, tax provision accounting, and tax planning.
- Experience managing international tax matters in a multinational organization.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740, transfer pricing, and indirect tax regulations.
- Experience supporting high-growth technology, manufacturing, or research-driven organizations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and tax technology solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working in a global organization.
Compensation & Benefits:
Incentive Eligible – Range posted is inclusive of bonus target
The pay range for this role is $129,000 – $162,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
