Job Description

Production & Service Coordinator – School Meals (Tucson)

Job title

Production & Service Coordinator – School Meals (Tucson)

Company

Nutrition One

Location

Tucson, AZ 85705

Job type

Full-time

Pay

$21.00 – $23.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday to Friday • Day shift • No nights, no weekends

5,000 student meals a day depend on the numbers you enter and the calls you make.

Every school morning, Tucson students sit down to a meal that was planned, ordered, labeled, and tracked by one person the night before: the Production & Service Coordinator. This is not a data entry job and it is not a call center job. It sits in the middle, where production accuracy meets real-time communication with schools, kitchen leadership, and logistics teams. You will own the numbers behind 5,000 daily meals, manage the labels that keep the kitchen running, and be the first call a school makes when something needs to change. If you are detail-oriented, great with people, and want to see your work show up in a cafeteria full of kids every single day, this is your role. Nights and weekends off.

Before You Apply: What to Expect

We’re upfront so the right people apply and thrive:

  • This is a data-intensive role: you will spend significant time in Health-e Pro, Excel, and Outlook managing production records, meal tags, and order tracking.
  • You will be the primary contact for Tucson-area schools, which means a steady volume of email, phone, and Teams communication throughout the day.
  • Accuracy is the core standard of this job: errors in meal counts, labels, or USDA data have direct consequences for students and compliance.
  • You will occasionally support HR-adjacent tasks (interviews, corrective action) as directed by the Kitchen Director.
  • Hours follow the school calendar and may decrease or pause during school breaks.

Is this the right fit? You will thrive here if you are precise, calm when things get busy, a clear communicator, and someone who takes pride in a clean spreadsheet as much as a well-run kitchen.

What You’ll Do

  • Compile and process daily meal orders for approximately 5,000 Tucson-area students using Health-e Pro and production tracking tools.
  • Enter and maintain accurate production data, work orders, meal tags, and spreadsheets in compliance with USDA meal-pattern requirements.
  • Create and manage product labels for kitchen and logistics teams covering packaging, staging, and delivery.
  • Rotate Health-e Pro menus and submit pizza orders with accurate count tracking.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Tucson-area schools: respond to emails, calls, and Teams messages promptly.
  • Communicate production updates, changes, and issues to kitchen leadership and internal teams.
  • Support interviews, corrective action conversations, and other administrative tasks as directed.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of experience in an office coordination, production support, or customer-service role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain within 5 days of hire).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external coordination.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, organized, and consistently dependable.
  • Experience with Health-e Pro or similar menu planning software is a strong plus.
  • Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ DPS), preferred

Why Join Nutrition One?

  • A high-impact coordination role where your accuracy directly feeds thousands of students every day.
  • Competitive pay at $21.00–$23.00 per hour, with performance-based growth opportunities.
  • Training in USDA child nutrition program standards: NSLP, CACFP, and SFSP.
  • No nights, no weekends: your schedule follows the school day.
  • A collaborative team environment grounded in clear values and genuine mission.

If running the production and communication side of a school meal operation sounds like the right fit, hit Apply. We’d love to have you coordinating with us in Tucson.
