This role will be based in Suffolk, Essex, or Middlesex County and will support the organization by coordinating programming across multiple facilities within the criminal legal system (CLS), including recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to lead this programming. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, comfort navigating institutional environments, and the ability to manage competing priorities independently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate grant scopes, deliverables, timelines, and approved budgets into practical implementation workplans for Middlesex, Essex, and Suffolk Counties.
• Coordinate implementation across correctional, reentry, community, and digital settings.
• Track grant milestones, outputs, risks, barriers, and required follow-up.
• Coordinate contractors, volunteers, facilities, and internal Phoenix teams responsible for program delivery.

• Support programming at the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction, Essex County Pre-Release and Reentry Center, Middleton House of Correction, Suffolk County House of Correction, and other approved locations.
• Coordinate security-clearance submissions, facility orientations, program schedules, and substitute coverage.
• Support the development, approval, launch, and monitoring of virtual recovery, wellness, life-skills, and reentry courses.

• Build and maintain working relationships with sheriff’s departments, probation and parole offices, recovery and diversionary courts, community corrections programs, halfway houses, recovery residences, treatment providers, and reentry organizations.
• Strengthen referral pathways connecting individuals engaged before release with Phoenix programming, volunteers, Guides, and community resources after release.
• Coordinate Suffolk County engagement through the Newmarket community center and partner locations throughout Greater Boston.
• Map community resources and maintain relationships with organizations providing housing, employment, treatment, healthcare, and other wraparound services.

• Recruit, onboard, train, support, and retain Phoenix Community Guides and other volunteers, with an emphasis on people with lived experience in recovery and the criminal legal system.
• Coordinate quarterly Phoenix Guide trainings in alignment with Essex and Suffolk grant commitments.
• Coordinate monthly CLS-focused community events in Essex and Suffolk Counties.
• Plan Bridge Events and other welcoming activities that introduce returning community members to Phoenix Guides, community spaces, and programming.
• Support quarterly resource fairs, recovery celebrations, and partner events as required by the applicable grants.

• Support participant onboarding into NewForm and the New England Formerly Incarcerated Space.
• Use NewForm to connect participants with Phoenix programming, Guides, peer-support opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and community resources.
• Coordinate digital referral pathways with correctional and community partners.
• Monitor available digital engagement data and use findings to inform outreach, programming, and continuous improvement.
• Work with Phoenix’s digital content, research, and program teams to support course approvals, platform coordination, and production logistics related to New England grant commitments.

• Maintain accurate program, attendance, participant, referral, volunteer, contractor, and facility records.
• Track grant-relevant measures including events delivered, attendance, unique and new participants, referrals, digital engagement, NewForm utilization, Guide engagement, and participant-to-volunteer transitions.
• Coordinate documentation for monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and final grant reporting.
• Work with Research, Finance, Development, and program leadership to ensure data quality, participant privacy, grant compliance, and appropriate allocation of staff time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of relevant work or volunteer experience.
• Background in volunteer or staff management.
• Availability and reliable transportation for traveling across Suffolk, Essex, and Middlesex Counties as needed.
• Availability to work one flexible day per week at our Boston community center (54 Newmarket Square).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to travel nationally for team or all-staff retreats, approximately once a year.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• $73,000-$80,000 annually (please be aware that most offers fall below the top of the range and are based on a variety of factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity among the team, and market indicators).
