Job Description
The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans.
The Foundation is seeking an experienced Coordinator, Community Outreach who will oversee the Denver Veterans Village community outreach efforts, organize the Program’s current list of supporters, volunteers, and affiliates, and perform various administrative, clerical and support tasks and assist in all matters as it relates to our Denver Veterans Village and Homeless Veteran Program. Applicants must have strong organizational skills, the ability to effectively multi-task within a timely fashion, possess a keen attention to detail, be able to prioritize workload, and able to handle sensitive information.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage and keep current regional list of organizations, supporters, volunteers, and vendors, and coordinate with state-specific program employees to disseminate relevant information.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between regional veteran organizations and the Denver Veterans Village.
- Work closely with key operational contacts, both internal and external, to connect and develop relationships with community groups.
- Administrative tasks that will include email and phone correspondence, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, managing communications, coordinating schedules, and setting up meetings.
- Maintain distribution and volunteer lists.
- Follow-up communication with supportive service vendors and outside organizations to promote the Foundation’s mission.
- Prioritize workload and adjust work tasks as needed by the Homeless Veteran Program team.
- Coordinating with various departments to execute in-kind donations, volunteer events, and other outreach opportunities.
- Presenting and speaking on behalf of the Homeless Veteran Program.
- Manage and keep current national list of organizations, supporters, volunteers, and vendors, and coordinate with state-specific program employees to disseminate relevant information.
- Work closely with key operational contacts, both internal and external, to connect and develop relationships with community groups.
- Coordinate with interdepartmental teams and community outreach partners to align program efforts, share resources, and support outreach initiatives.
- Administrative tasks that will include email and phone correspondence, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, managing communications, coordinating schedules and setting up meetings.
- Manage T2T Homeless Veteran Program email inquiries.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Strong organizational and design skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to multitask multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite (or equivalent).
