Job Description

Microvast is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer with at least five years of hands-on experience in humanoid robot design and development. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical experience designing, integrating, and testing physical robotic systems.

This position requires a versatile engineer who can work across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define engineering requirements and develop technical specifications for robotic systems and subsystems.
  • Design, evaluate, and integrate actuators, joints, motor drives, sensors, and embedded controllers.
  • Analyze robot kinematics, dynamics, motion performance, and mechanical stability.
  • Support electrical architecture, power distribution, and electromechanical integration.
  • Develop and test embedded software and control functions.
  • Build prototypes and test fixtures; conduct performance, reliability, and system integration testing.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
  • Evaluate components and technical solutions from suppliers and development partners.
  • Prepare design documentation, engineering calculations, and validation reports.
  • Support design reviews and continuous improvements in performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of hands-on experience in humanoid robot design and development.
  • Demonstrated involvement in building and testing functional humanoid robots or major humanoid robotic subsystems.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic mechanisms, actuators, motor control, kinematics, and dynamics.
  • Practical experience with encoders, inertial sensors, force/torque sensors, and real-time control systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++, with experience in embedded systems and robotics software.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and interface specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience with whole body control, locomotion, manipulation, or human robot interaction.
  • Familiarity with ROS 2 and robotics simulation tools
  • Experience with CAD, engineering analysis, and rapid prototyping.
  • Experience with advancing robotic systems from prototype deveopment to production.
