Unarmed Security Officer Providence Area Evening and Overnight Shifts

SecurityRI is hiring part-time and full-time Unarmed Security Officers for evening and overnight shift coverage throughout Providence and surrounding communities. Active assignments include high-rise residential buildings, apartment communities, affordable housing properties, and mixed-use developments.

This position is ideal for a disciplined, dependable individual who takes pride in accountability, professionalism, strong communication, and consistent execution across every shift.

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Shift assignments vary based on site needs and candidate availability.

Position Overview
Officers assigned to these posts are responsible for maintaining a visible and professional security presence while actively monitoring their assigned property. Responsibilities include conducting patrols, observing and reporting unusual activity, monitoring access points, interacting with residents and visitors, and responding appropriately to incidents as they arise.

SecurityRI utilizes modern technology to support field operations. Officers are required to use mobile applications for attendance, patrol verification, reporting, and communication. Candidates should be comfortable operating a smartphone and learning company-issued security software.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols of assigned properties and common areas

• Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, lobbies, and other designated locations

• Complete patrol verification checkpoints and required security documentation

• Submit clear, accurate, and detailed incident reports

• Document unusual activity, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and policy violations

• Maintain awareness of resident, visitor, vendor, and contractor activity

• Provide professional customer service and assistance when needed

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, residents, and fellow officers

• Respond appropriately to security concerns, disturbances, and emergency situations

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

What We Are Looking For

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position. Officers must be capable of producing accurate and detailed reports while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.

Successful candidates demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, sound judgment, situational awareness, and the ability to remain alert during evening and overnight assignments. Candidates must be comfortable working independently and consistently following post orders and company procedures.

Previous experience in security, customer service, hospitality, residential communities, property management, military service, or related fields is preferred but not required.

Technology Requirements
All officers must have access to a smartphone capable of running company applications used for attendance, patrol verification, reporting, and communication. SecurityRI provides training on all required systems prior to assignment.
