Cage Cashier in ONAWA, Iowa at Casino Omaha

Position: Cage Cashier

Classification: Key / Non-Exempt

Reports to: Casino Manager

Position Summary: Distributes moneys to gaming guests via check cashing, and conversion of coins into currency; Protects company assets while dealing with the public in an efficient and courteous manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Safeguard company assets and adhere to all Departmental, Casino and Gaming Regulations;

Maintain and is held accountable for all funds entrusted to him/her on an assigned shift;

Provide prompt, friendly and courteous service to all casino guests;

Creates teamwork by helping co-workers with essential duties;

Balances all money transaction and paperwork;

Meets all attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

A proven proficiency with computers and ten (10) key adding machines with some knowledge of computer keyboard are preferred;

Have One (1) years previous experience as casino cage cashier.

Be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.

Knowledge, Skills, Competence, and Abilities:

Must be able to enter data, read and interpret output from computer;

Must have excellent guest and human relations skills;

Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift;

Must be willing to learn all phases of cage activity;

Must present a well-groomed appearance;

Be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; Be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community;

Be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors;

Be able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's;

Be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;

Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. Exposure to second hand smoke. The noise level in the work environment ranges from mild to loud.
