Position Description:
Summary:
The Funding Department Processor prepares mortgage loan files for funding and purchase, schedules closing wires, and supports secondary market operations. This position ensures funding packages are accurate, complete, and delivered on time while maintaining data integrity and coordinating with internal departments, warehouse banks, and other third parties.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Funding Operations
• Review mortgage loan files for completeness and funding readiness.
• Prepare funding packages, purchase advices, data tapes, and other required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with investor, warehouse, and internal funding requirements.
• Deliver purchase documentation to investors and third-party partners.
• Upload warehouse packages and required data files.
• Resolve funding conditions with warehouse banks and other business partners.
Closing Wire Administration
• Verify wire instructions for accuracy.
• Schedule closing wires according to title company instructions and internal documentation.
• Research and resolve discrepancies before releasing funds.
Pooling and Securitization Support
• Schedule collateral shipments for mortgage pools.
• Coordinate warehouse payoff activities and wire receipts for securitization transactions.
Data Management
• Generate operational reports.
• Maintain accurate loan and funding records.
• Verify data integrity throughout the funding process.
Communication and Collaboration
• Communicate effectively with internal departments, warehouse banks, investors, title companies, and correspondents.
• Resolve funding issues promptly to meet closing and purchase deadlines.
• Maintain organized documentation and accurate records throughout the funding process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
1–3 years of experience in funding operations preferred.
Experience in related in related mortgage operations, including purchase clearing, lock desk, capital markets, or secondary markets is a plus.
General knowledge of mortgage lending practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with internal teams and external business partners.
